Want your CRM 2011 Users to have access to reports that are outside of CRM?

The scenario that comes up often for our customers is that now that they have their teams trained to go into CRM to get their information, how can they see additional reporting information that the business puts out right inside of CRM?

One of the options that you have available to you is to upload these reports (or hyperlinks to these reports) right inside of the Reporting Area inside of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.

Here is the 101 on uploading Reports in CRM 2011 in 4 quick steps:

  • Open Up CRM and go the Reporting Area and click on “New”

Here is the 101 on uploading Reports in CRM 2011 in 4 quick steps:

  • Open Up CRM and go the Reporting Area and click on “New”


     

  • Select from the “Report Type” Existing File


     

  • Now upload your report (in this case, I am demonstrating bringing in an excel spreadsheet report of a pipeline snapshot)
    • Fill out the
      • Name of the Report
      • Categories (ie Sales Reports)
      • Related Record Types (ie Opportunities)
      • Display In (ie do you want it on the list view of the Record, or right on the Record)
    • Save and Close


     

  • Now go see that your report shows up throughout CRM:
    • On the List View (shown here on Opportunities)
    • On the Record (shown here on the Opportunity Record)
